How do Visioneer glasses work?

Are you blue light safe?

What is blue light? Blue light is the part of the visible light spectrum that has the shortest wavelength and highest energy. It can be detected by the human eye and has more potential to cause harm to the eye than other visible light.

Do you know that blue light is everywhere?

Blue light comes mainly from sunlight. When you are outside during the day, you are exposed to blue light (visible light) and ultraviolet rays (invisible light). When you are indoor, you are exposed to artificial sources of blue light like computer and phone screens, fluorescent and LED lights. It is all around us.

Research has shown that too much exposure to blue light can lead to digital eye strain (dry eyes, headache, blurred vision, etc.) It can also affect your sleep by suppressing melatonin secretion, a hormone that influences circadian rhythms. According to Harvard Health, while all types of light can suppress the secretion of melatonin, getting exposed to blue light at night has an especially strong effect and may potentially lead to diseases like cancer, diabetes, heart disease, and obesity due to disruption of sleep.

Visioneer - High Performance Eyeglasses

Visioneer Digital Protection glasses are carefully designed for all-day wear and total protection against indoor and outdoor radiation, blue light and UV rays (UVA & UVB). These glasses have slightly yellow-tinted lenses that filter out high-energy short-wave blue light. They can help reduce digital eye strain and improve sleep at night. Additionally, they can enhance the overall digital viewing experience and increase comfort by providing better visual clarity and contrast.

In the electromagnetic spectrum, UV light covers the wavelength range of 100nm to 400nm while blue light covers 400nm to 500 nm. Short-wave blue light with wavelength 415nm to 450nm has the most potential to harm your eyes. We test our glasses with high-power blue laser (415nm) on high-precision blue light and UV test cards in the video below. The cards covered with our proprietary Digital Protection lens are shielded from both blue light and UV radiation.
