For the past decade, I have been using transitions as part of my daily routine of wearing my distance specs-mostly outdoors. Visioneer brand got my attention in the IG ads for the following 1. Updated blue light specific filters 2. Light-adaptive characteristics 3. Cheap, but fashionable Lightweight frames.
It took some time for the order to be shipped, it was packed very carefully, The lens were flawless-not even a speck of dust seen. It was neatly sealed in a zip lock bag and came in a case with accessories that made the product feel more premium than it already actually is. Against the light, the lens reflect a distinctive blue pin-light already shouting its filtering properties as advertised. The frame also didn’t disappoint, it’s lightweight, and fashionable- only size available is just right for me. Lastly, The light adaptive capability catches up fairly quickly depending on how strong the light source is. It’s doesn’t stack up to my previous transitions, but offers fairly decent lens darkening.
I took my specs for a test run around midday and looked at glaring manmade landscapes. Comparing it side by side with my Essilor transitions in the process. Visioneer specs bested my old ones in terms of color vibrancy. I’m still not sure if it was the blue filter in my Visioneer brand specs that made the difference. What I can tell is this: if you look at objects at midday with all the sunlight reflections and all, and choose a specific object to focus on that has color (e.g. red tiled roofing), the color profile using Essilor transitions were “washed out”, while that through Visioneer brand specs were very clear and distinct. I also asked a friend to check if it was just me and the description was: it’s like having a generic smart phone and finally switching to a Sams*** phone.
I am happy with the purchase, they made spectacles this interesting again for me. Quality lens, fashionable frame, On a price tag that allows you to plan for a second pair.
